A variety of small classes and 1:1 sessions are currently offered, these are tailored to your unique needs. All classes are held with Ginny either in the cosy studio, just north of Andover, or in your own home.
I thought I’d write this month about diastasis recti, I have started working with a number of post-natal clients recently and when doing my initial 1:1, one of the questions I will always ask is, if the client has been diagnosed with diastasis recti.
At the start of the summer I stumbled upon a post on Facebook asking for businesses based in the Andover and Basingstoke area who might be interested in featuring in their magazine. I thought, why not and added some details about my website. I wasn’t really sure if anything would come of it, but I guessed there was no harm in trying.
It’s been a little while since I last wrote a blog post and far longer than I would have liked. My aim when I added the blog section to my website was to add a post once a month, not difficult I thought back then, but life seems to have got in the way and that combined with not really being a natural writer has hampered my efforts.
So today is Pilates Day, which is an opportunity to celebrate everything Joseph Pilates brought to the world. This got me thinking about Pilates itself. As I've talked about before, I've found it one of the most useful things I've done, not only has Pilates helped with back pain I have experienced in the past, it has also kept me toned and massively increased my strength. All in all, for me it has been a great body conditioner.
Pilates is a workout, but not one that perhaps you know. Celebrities have made Pilates even more popular and it is one of the fastest growing exercise techniques in the world. But why should you think about taking it up?
That is a question that I have been asked numerous times in the last year. Why Pilates? Having spent eight years teaching when my first daughter came along, the natural thing for me to do was to return to work on a part-time basis, giving me more time to spend with her. However after the birth of my second daughter, returning to work in teaching didn't appeal.
